Maxim Ludwig/Olin & The Moon Residency @ The Echo

Ok, here’s the deal…

It’s 2012, and according the the Mayan calendar, we don’t have much time left…

Which is exactly why you should be at The Echo every Tuesday night this month for the Maxim Ludwig & The Santa Fe Seven/Olin & The Moon residency.  I made my way last night for the first of four shows they will be putting on this month, and I will be making my way for the rest.  The schedule is different each week, so if you can’t make it out for the early band, or can’t stay for the last, you will surely find a way to see the bands one way or another.

Maxim Ludwig started things off last night, and let’s just say they began the new year with a BANG!  I saw them last month, for the record release of their new EP, and witnessed one of the better shows I’d seen in a while.  Last night was no different.  They are loud and they are fun.  I was with a friend of mine, he commented to me during their final song, “if these guys would have been born 20 years earlier… they would be huge.”  Sure enough, the song ended and a track from The Rolling Stones began playing from the loud speakers.

You need to go see these dudes, they played a set at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass last year and contiue to play around.  Go hang with them after their set as well.  Some of the nicest guys I’ve met in the scene.  I couldn’t stick around for much of Olin & The Moon, but what I heard, I enjoyed.  Can’t wait to hear more.
